About Microchips
How pet microchips work
A pet microchip is a tiny device (about the size of a grain of rice) that is implanted under your pet's skin, typically between the shoulder blades. It contains a unique identification number that can be read by a microchip scanner.
Supported formats:
- ISO FDX-B / HDX (15-digit): e.g., 985-1412-34567890
- AVID (9-digit): e.g., 123-456-789
- Trovan (10-character): e.g., ABC12-34567
Important: Microchipping alone is not enough. Always keep your contact information up to date in the microchip registry.
